Our client, a global CDMO, is looking to add a Principal Scientist, Process Chemistry to their research and development team. As a member of process R&D, the qualified candidate will develop and execute a work plan for synthesis of a small molecule; then conduct hands on chemical process research and development, report results, and support GXP manufacturing of that molecule.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, develop, and safely execute existing chemical processes to support GXP manufacturing of small molecules – up to and including Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
Propose, develop, and implement new synthetic routes.
Propose, develop, and implement improved reaction, purification, and isolation conditions.
Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities to solve problems and resolve project hurdles.
Employ effective writing and oral presentation skills to communicate experimental results and project reports with the project team, management, and clients.
Build strong relationships with peers and cross functional teams to enable high productivity.

Qualifications:

PhD Degree in Organic Chemistry with 8+ years of experience (preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, or closely related sector).
A broad range of expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry, and/or biocatalysis, purification, instrumentation (LC/GC, LC/GC-MS, NMR, DSC, etc.).
Any of the following traits is a plus:

Experience in multistep synthesis of organic molecules
Experience with Design of Experiment (DoE)
Experience with flow chemistries
Experience with cGMP production
