Assistant Director of Nusing (ADON)Full-TimeThe Assistant Director of Nursing assists the DON in maintaining the standards of resident care, advising the medical staff, department heads, and administrator in matters related to Nursing Services. Assist the DON in establishing policies, interpreting those policies according to the standards of nursing practice, and with general staff development.Assist the DON in administration of policies and procedures of the nursing departmentAssist the DON in planning, organizing, and supervising the Nursing Department around the clock in order to insure competent nursing care for the residentsAssist or maintain an active staff development programEncourages increased competency and skill in all levels of the Nursing Department staffAdvises the DON of any problems related to resident careMonitors the resident medical and nursing history for completeness and inclusion in the medical recordParticipates in QAAAssists the DON to maintain the standards of careProvide leadership and promote team spirit with staff, interdisciplinary team, and department headsSupervise and counsel personnel to fulfill the objectives of the Nursing DepartmentCreate and maintain a motivating environment that encourages employee involvement, creativity and problem solvingEducational Requirements and Experience:Graduate from an accredited School of NursingLicensed Registered Nurse in the State of TexasKnowledge of Nursing Theory and standards of practiceMust Have at least 2 years Skilled Nursing ExperienceMust Have at least 1 year ADON experience in a Skilled Nursing Community#INDCL1
