Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Region IV Area Agency on Aging is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role oversees all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and compliance requirements. Works closely with CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s mission and goals. Oversees all financial compliance for private and government (federal, state, local) grants and contracts. In conjunction with the CEO provides leadership and coordination of insurance procurement, building and property management, and all financial matters including capital asset management, accounting, budget preparation, audit oversight and daily leadership of the Financial Services department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s mission and goalsManage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisDevelops policy and manages adherence to procedures, standards, and accounting practices for all financial activities. Maintains compliance with GAAP and applicable state, federal and local laws. Maintains adequate internal audit and budgetary controls according to policies.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial systemsPrepare and present financial reports to the CEO, Finance Committee and Board of Directors, providing analysis and recommendations as neededEnsure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and other reporting requirementsManage relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and other financial service providersBudgeting and ForecastingDevelop and oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with program managers and other stakeholders to develop realistic and achievable budgetsMonitor actual performance against budget and provide regular updates and analysis to the CEO, COO and Program ManagersDevelop and maintain financial forecasting models that support long-term financial planning and decision-makingStrategic Planning and LeadershipWork closely with the CEO and senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans and goals that support the organization’s mission and visionLead the Finance Committee, collaborating with the CEO to provide strategic financial guidance and support to the organizationCollaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that support the organization’s mission and goalsProvide leadership and mentorship to the Financial Services team, fostering a culture of servant leadership, continuous improvement, and professional developmentBoard Relations and ReportingReport on the financial performance of the organization to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors, including regular updates on budget performance, forecasts, and financial risks and opportunitiesRepresent the organization at internal and external events and meetings, providing financial guidance and support as neededTax Filing and ComplianceOversee all tax filings and compliance requirements, ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulationsManage relationships with external auditors and other financial service providers to ensure compliance with all reporting and regulatory requirementsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises AAA Financial Services team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency’s policies and applicable laws.
