Since 2008, Path with Art has been at the forefront of a growing international movement that utilizes the power of art as a means to bring dignity, awareness, and healing to the complexities of the issues surrounding homelessness, and recovery from trauma. As a long-time leader in this field, the Path with Art model is currently being sought out and recognized by communities both nationally and internationally.
It is an exciting time of strategic expansion and increased opportunities at Path with Art. An emerging organization and leader in its sector, Path with Art has grown exponentially in the past ten years, with a current $2.7M annual budget, wrapping up a $10.3M capital campaign, and getting settled into our new ArtHOME space in Seattle Center. We are hiring for a COO to join our team with the following characteristics:

Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will report to the CEO and is in charge of implementing and overseeing all the internal and day-to-day operations, processes and strategies towards the overall mission and vision of Path with Art. The COO will be responsible for organizational strategic development, human resource management, fiscal management, and program oversight. This position is the second-in-command to the CEO. The COO is responsible for taking the CEO’s vision and turning it into an executable plan. They will oversee all operations and ensure that teams work toward achieving the organization’s goals.
A strong candidate will have proficiency in all facets of MS Office suite, Quickbooks, and basic accounting principles. The ideal candidate will be a team-player, clear communicator, detail-oriented, flexible in nature, extremely organized, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities with a positive disposition.
Primary Responsibilities
Bookkeeping, reconciliation, and accounting oversight and/or execution
Financial reporting
Monthly meetings with the CEO and board finance committee
Develop, review of, and oversight of financial policies in collaboration with CEO and Board Finance Committee as set by the board
Communication with departmental heads re: revenue and expense projections
Supporting the CEO with budget creation, review, and provide recommendations for adjustments
Work with development and program staff to develop and track grant reporting requirements
Track organizational cash flow, fiscal health, observations, and concerns
Human Resources
Annual personnel policy review and compliance
Hiring and termination policies, compliance, and oversight
Development and support of a Path with Art staff training manual and onboarding procedures
Employee review scheduling and support
Work with CEO on staff compensation review, adjustments, and recommendations
Oversight of staffing, roles and responsibilities, and professional development allocation
Staff community building: Help maintain and develop new ways to sustain a positive work environment to support staff retention and wellness
Internal Organizational Oversight
Commit to advance justice, accessibility, inclusion, diversity, and equity (JAIDE) in organizational routines and practice
Oversee the development and implementation of organizational processes, systems, and procedures for all staff to maximize efficiency in administration.
Work with senior staff in developing and executing projects and program activities, with an emphasis on effective strategies
Assist in the evaluation of both current and new processes and program operations
Develop and oversee document archival policies, procedures, and storage

Skills & Experience
A strong candidate will:

Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow
Understand financial management practices and nonprofit accounting
Have high proficiency with Quickbooks, MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and Google Suite (especially Sheets)
Familiarity with Mailchimp, Salesforce, Cloud Storage platforms, social media management platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, but not mandatory
Five or more years in nonprofit/business management and operations experience with a proven track record in improving organizational processes with an annual budget of over $2 million
Have ease in building trusting relationships and inspiring confidence with a variety of stakeholders, including colleagues, board members, staff, and external partners
Have a “roll up your” sleeves approach to getting work done
Have a healthy sense of humor
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
Salary range: $105,000-$125,000 DOE
Benefits: 100% healthcare coverage including dental and vision available, 403(b) retirement plan pre-tax distribution with a 3% contribution

Who We Serve
We serve no- to low- income adults in active recovery from domestic abuse, homelessness, substance abuse disorder, mental health challenges, and other trauma who are working to rebuild their lives. Our Participant Artists are referred to us by more than 65 social service partners. These include housing providers such as Plymouth Housing, Low Income Housing Institute, Downtown Emergency Services Center, as well as social service and mental health agencies such as Sound Health, Recovery Café, King County Drug Diversion Court and veteran organizations.
Work Environment
Path with Art is currently working in a hybrid workspace, with most staff working from home 2 days a week and in our office adjacent to Seattle Center 3 days a week. The Path with Art office generally operates 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. However, this position will periodically require availability outside these hours and during the weekend.
