As a team, we collaborate to turn data into meaningful insights that will have a direct impact on patient’s lives and the future of Pfizer as a data-driven organization. The person in this role will lead the partnership with an assigned global, U.S., or a pipeline franchise team to act as a strategic partner by framing, investigating, and answering key business questions through the development and execution of an analytic plan. This plan will include a combination of primary market research, key performance tracking / LEAP dashboard, and customer data mining and analytics to fully understand and generate insights. These insights will contribute to market or PFE brand strategy, as well as informing the commercial development of PFE’s pipeline, including business development (BD). This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to our business. The successful candidate will join Business Analytics and Insights (BAI) colleagues worldwide that are dedicated to helping drive business through proactive thought leadership, innovative research capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESRole definition and Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:Market AnalyticsProvide market analytics leadership to U.S., Global or Pipeline commercial teams to drive investment decisions.Act as strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to the identification and evaluation of commercial strategies and tactics.Lead identification of information needs and development of research and data analysis plans.Develop and execute creation of in-house knowledge base to drive patient and HCP insights.Connect research and analytics together to tell a compelling and persuasive story and deliver clear and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.Forecasting/ Operating Plan SupportIn partnership with key Pfizer stakeholders, act as the BAI lead for the development of Long-Range Forecasts (LRFs) and Operating Plans.Coordinate forecasting activities with local in-country, Global BAI, and Forecasting CoE colleagues.Drive the creation of best-in-class epi- and trend-based forecast models in partnership with CoE colleagues.Review and enhance forecasts, with strong expertise in ability to qualify and quantify the business opportunity, including communicating results and recommendations to senior leadership.Ensure accurate effective performance measurement and deliver regular assessments of portfolio performance to leadership, including clear articulation of the data and its meaning for the business.Collaboration with other Analytical teamsLead dialogue to adapt global strategies and insights to local markets.Actively contribute to advancement of BAI capabilities through thought leadership; seek to share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform.Alignment with other BAI teams to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders.Partner with other analytic functions to advance the use of novel data sources including RWD. Vendor/Offshore Resource ManagementEnsure team commissioning and contracting through preferred vendors.Accountable for team meeting compliance and Corporate SOP obligations of all PMR projectsCrate and manage budgets associated with assigned activities.Direct workload of flexible resourcesBe accountable for continuous improvement and identification/utilization of new capabilities to maximize the competitive advantages of the business.Identify the need and manage contingent workers as appropriate.Financial accountability Manage budget and spending (including ad-hoc secondary data purchases, primary market research, reporting and analytics contract resources) QUALIFICATIONSTechnical SkillsFluent in English (written and spoken)Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skillsForecast experience with ability to run models to understand risks and uncertainties, with ability to communicate ‘the story’ to commercial leadership.Known subject matter expert for quantitative and qualitative market research methodologies.Extensive experience in the design and management of secondary data analyticsPrevious demonstrated experience in using innovative techniques to monitor, simulate and analyze complex data sets preferred.Ability to assess and direct vendor technical capabilities and manage risks in the analytic process.Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, deal with ambiguity, and lead teams through complex and challenging cross-functional projects.Recognized expertise and coach to others on connecting, integrating, and synthesizing analysis into a meaningful ‘so what’ to drive clear strategic recommendations and enable commercial decision making.Proven ability to act as a strategic partner with the capacity to quickly establish relationships of trust, credibility, and be seen as a driving partner to commercial clients.Previous demonstrated experience of forecasting revenues, including complex methodologies.Ability to identify, prioritize and describe relevant caveats and uncertainties in research, analytic projects, and forecasts, including how they relate to the business question and broader strategic priorities.Previous demonstrated Business / Financial acumenExperience10+ years’ experience in Biopharma, analytics, strategic consulting, business, or related areaBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required.
