In addition, the Director is responsible for working closely with IIE/s Business Development Division to identify and prepare competitive proposals for additional USAID projects globally. The Director also represents IIE at meetings and conferences where USAID work is highlighted.The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.Essential Functions:Oversees the USAID projects on a day-to-day basis. Leads project meetings. Project meetings keep IIE employees fully informed on client communications, ensure knowledge sharing occurs between the employees assigned to the project but working in multiple units, and provide support and training if needed on the project.Communicates with their peer client person-of-contact on a day-to-day basis on project status, all project reporting, scope management, issues, risks, and concerns raised by the client.Works with portfolio finance to establish budgets. Conducts budget monitoring, forecasting, profitability modeling, and measures key metrics. Work with internal stakeholders, portfolio finance, HR, G&C, other shared services.Responsible for project reporting and project deliverables, gathering data, developing presentations/reports for the client.Develops Talent, supervision, coaching, mentoring, and training team members assigned to the project. Supervises Project Managers/Chief of Party (COPs), and Team Leads.Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience:Requires an Bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of related work experience, or combination education and experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:At least 10 years of experience managing complex USAID projects.Experience with managing and backstopping field project offices. Knowledge of ADS 252 and ADS 253 requirements preferred.Knowledge of TraiNet and other USAID systems and procedures preferred.Strong interest and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong understanding of cultural issues facing international students.Ability to manage sensitive cultural and counseling issues.Project management, time-management and administrative skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to interact with all levels of team members and external contacts; sensitive to cultural differences when working with people from other cultures; and ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters.Salary Range: $118,229 – $157,263.
