The candidate will be part of a team responsible for supporting a wide range of internal customers. The position is focused on designing, developing and solutioning data pipelines and AI/ML model reports. Our Impact:The Capital Markets division supports the liquidity of the mortgage markets and makes funding more available by purchasing mortgage-related securities guaranteed by Freddie Mac and other financial institutions in its investment portfolio. The Business Technology Office supports all of the technology for this division.Your Impact:Design, develop, conduct unit testing, and maintain complex data pipelines and AIML reports for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance and re-useProvide technical expertise in areas of reporting architecture, design, and implementation.Work through iterative review cycles to deliver results that meet or exceed user expectations.Create engaging and detailed materials including user guides, specification documents, release notes and testing results documentsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative subject areaAt least 7+ years of hands-on data pipelines development, testing and delivery experienceAt least 5 years of experience developing in Python programmingAt least 3 years’ experience working at a lead level, comfortable with communicating design concepts and setting expectations for model reporting tools Experience building production systems for business-critical processesExperience writing automated unit, integration, regression, performance and acceptance testsSolid understanding of software design principlesImplement new models and data transformations using Python based technologies such as PySpark, Spark and PandasFully utilize AWS services such as Elastic Map Reduce (EMR) to parallelize the process and reduce the runtimeOptimize Python code to reduce runtime and memory usageWrite high quality automated tests to validate your codeKeys to Success in this Role:Passionate about hands-on software developmentStrong collaboration and communication skills (both written and verbal), including interacting with data scientists on technical topicsDesire to continuously improve the technical quality and architecture of our systems to respond to business needsAbility to quickly learn, apply and deploy new technologies to solve emerging problemsToday, Freddie Mac makes home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing. This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $143,000 – $215,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
