Due to the retirement of senior equity partners, this position also offers the opportunity to acquire an equity/ownership interest in a dynamic, progressive and growing company.What’s often missing amid the newspaper industry’s recent transition is the increasingly important role of local weekly newspapers. Two of our communities have been voted as one of the best places in America to live and has received the governor’s hometown award.The successful candidate will be dedicated to achieving revenue goals while being a hands-on, visible leader that can grow print advertising and digital revenue while managing other functional areas of the business. Qualified candidates will have management experience in newspaper, organizational and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service. This position is responsible for all advertising related activities to include developing sales strategy, driving retail, digital and classified revenue, developing and making budgets, sales reports and actively managing an account list.The publisher is responsible for revenue generation and profitability and is expected to handle accounts and actively develop new business. The publisher oversees production, circulation, business operations and editorial. He/she is expected to play an active and visible role in the community.
