Pay: Exempt position, pay to commiserate with experience Job Summary Ensure the safety, potency and purity of all products collected, by making certain that all areas of responsibility are operating in full compliance with federal, state, other regulatory and accrediting agencies, departmental and organizational policy. Promote internal & external customer service excellence. Work cooperatively with other departments to achieve the organization’s overall goals and support the image of the organization within the community. Ensure the confidentiality of all work-related information concerning a donor or patient, the organization, other employees and volunteers.  Responsibilities  Oversee daily NCW and other activities of the assigned fixed site/mobiles and use Daily Collection Plan. Support and align Team Leader and staff, to meet strategic goals. This will be achieved by on-site, and mobiles visit. Regularly report to assigned Director/Senior Manager, NCW, with recommendations on major problems, anticipated or encountered, suggested improvements, and on achievements in matters related to NCW or otherwise. Direct and manage employees on a day-to-day basis and support by interpreting and supporting changes, and explaining policies and procedures, answering questions and making constructive suggestions. Mentor, coach, develop and empower all staff. Act as role model and resource and assist others in problem solving. Be proactive in the resolution of complaints and work-related problems involving staff members and donors, responding to issues promptly, with timely follow-up. Conduct regular staff meetings, email all reporting staff and NCW Administration detailed meeting minutes. Participate in donor recruitment, automated conversion, and donor rescheduling, with a focus on customer service to support and build a satisfied and loyal donor base. Support the image of the organization within the community. Responsibility for own means of transportation, allowing for ready & timely travel to any other site or location at short notice. Oversee QC, PM and general maintenance of collection equipment at the assigned fixed site/mobiles. Manage and ensure all site records are available, organized and appropriately filed for record keeping purposes and inspections. Perform objective annual performance appraisals for assigned staff, with documentation of ongoing progress, through regular one-on-one staff meetings as needed, to promote staff recognition and meet organizational directive. Perform ongoing review and timely approval of timecards, with attention to accuracy and completeness. Partner with other departments on relevant issues as required. Understands and adheres to the policies, procedures and standards developed as part of the San Diego Blood Bank Compliance Program. Perform and assist with other related duties as assigned or directed. Standard industry environment (fixed site and bloodmobile).Frequent exposure to the risk of blood borne pathogens.Possible exposure to chemicals that may be hazardous.Standard blood banking environment. Contact with donors, patients and general public under a variety of circumstances.May perform emergency care and handle crisis situations.Travel to other blood collection sites, as needed or assigned, often at short notice.Subject to varying and unpredictable hours. Physical Requirements Must be able to work on a computer 4 – 8 hours a day.At times, may be subject to prolonged standing or sitting.Light to medium lifting required, up to 45 lbs., seeking assistance, using provided equipment, such as cart, lift gate, etc., when necessary / indicated.Assist with lifting and moving of donors.Perform body motions in the ergonomically correct manner such as bending, kneeling, crouching or stooping, twisting, stretching / reaching or climbing, lifting, pushing and pulling, grasping and gripping, keyboard data input.Able to climb steps on bloodmobile self-contained vehicles.Ability to work in confined spaces.Use of equipment that requires a high degree of dexterity. Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years of supervisor or team leader experience desirable.Previous blood bank experience preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Valid CA Driver’s License.Protecting Human Research Subject Certification (obtained within 6 months of hire)
