This position is for a professional land surveyor that supervises technical staff, provides professional review of work products; helps manage office and field workload and supports the principal in charge. We are an employee-owned firm and this position has the opportunity to fast track into a Principal role. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform a diverse set of skills within land surveying. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Professional Land Surveyor registration is a must and California is preferred, a minimum of 10 years surveying and mapping experience required, must possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills, must be proficient in the use of total stations, GPS receivers and data collectors, and GPS reduction software, TBC preferred, excellent AutoCAD skills a plus, proficient in monumentation, and staking. The person in this position provides all types of survey research, calculations, review of survey drafting of topographic maps and plats, legal descriptions of land for deeds, leases, and other legal documents in accordance with local, state, federal and project requirements, and reviews projects, performs quality assurance, and delivers client satisfaction. Special Skills and Leadership Perform work under very limited supervision requiring the need to exercise independent judgement and discretion on a regular basis. Position includes direct supervisory responsibility of staff to include hiring decisions, direction and delegation of work assignments, performance and evaluation, training and development, employee satisfaction and disciplinary issues, compensation, and termination decisions.
