180 the Store is an independent luxury fashion boutique with locations in Tribeca and Amagansett, carrying a considered mix of emerging and established designers from around the world.We are looking for an experienced Freelance Store Merchandiser to work with us on an ongoing, flexible basis, helping shape and maintain the visual presentation of the stores.The right person will have experience working within a luxury multi-line or multi-designer environment, a strong understanding of fashion and styling, and a thoughtful eye for how different collections come together in a space.The RoleWorking closely with the owner and buying team, you will be responsible for keeping the stores feeling fresh, cohesive, and true to the point of view of 180 the Store, while always keeping the customer and the commercial side of the business in mind.ResponsibilitiesCreate thoughtful, elevated merchandise presentations throughout the storeMerchandise multiple designers and collections in a cohesive wayWork across color, texture, proportion, category, and price point to create a strong overall editRefresh floor layouts and displays regularlyWork with new deliveries to determine the best placement and presentationCreate focal points and window displays when neededDevelop presentations that feel inspiring while encouraging customer engagement and salesWork closely with the owner to bring the creative vision of the store to lifeHelp maintain a consistent visual language between the Tribeca and Amagansett locationsKeep up with current fashion, luxury retail, and visual merchandisingExperiencePrevious experience merchandising a luxury multi-line / multi-designer store is requiredStrong knowledge of luxury and contemporary fashionA strong eye for proportion, color, texture, composition, and stylingUnderstanding of how to bring different designers together while maintaining a cohesive store identityCommercial awareness and an understanding of how merchandising can support salesSelf-directed, organized, and reliableComfortable working in a small, entrepreneurial environmentAble to work closely with the owner while bringing your own perspective and ideasThis is a flexible freelance position, with hours and frequency based on the needs of the store.
