Charles Moffett is seeking a Gallery Associate (Temporary) to provide general administrative support across the gallery team, working in close partnership with the Gallery Founding Director and Senior Director, Artist Relations. This is a dynamic, detail-oriented role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced art world environment and enjoys wearing many hats from front-of-house operations, executive assistance and light art handling.The Gallery Associate (Temporary) will play a central role in the day-to-day rhythm of the gallery, helping ensure that daily operations run smoothly. This role reports to the Gallery Founding Director and Senior Director, Artist Relations.Front of House & Gallery OperationsGreet visitors and represent the gallery professionallyOrder gallery supplies as needed, also ordering supplies for openings and special eventsRelay visitor inquiries and information to Founding Director and Senior Director, Artist RelationsMaintain and update contact records, including categories, interests, photos, addresses, and notesCoordinate regular cleaning servicesResearch and format artist CVs in coordination with artists and literature sourcesMaintain artwork exhibition history, literature records, and location trackingSupport gallery clean-up and close-out following openings and eventsMaintain stock of price lists, press releases, catalogs, and invitationsProcess catalog sales via cash or credit cardArchivingRename individual and installation photography per gallery naming conventionsOrganize and archive TIFFs, high-res and low-res JPEGs in Google DriveUpdate and log artwork locations in ArtLogic and Arternal inventory systemLight Art HandlingConfident, hands-on packing and general art handling for private viewings and gallery storage organizationPaint and touch up walls before, during and after exhibitionsOrganize and store packing materials after installs for reuseDrop off and collect small-scale artworks from framersPick up exhibition vinyl as neededMaintain a tidy storage area within the galleryOur chosen candidate will be proactive, tackling responsibilities with ownership and pride to complete excellent work. A team player, self-motivated, goal-driven and emotionally intelligent. Comfortable with light physical work (packing, moving, light paint touch-up) alongside administrative / archiving responsibilities. Reliable, organized and trustworthy.
