The Kitchen Helper supports daily food preparation and maintains an orderly, sanitary work area in a busy Bronx kitchen. Typical duties include washing, peeling, and portioning ingredients; stocking reach-in coolers and dry storage; labeling prepared items; cleaning counters, sinks, floors, and equipment; and assisting cooks with routine prep tasks as directed. This role also helps with trash removal, dish handling, and restocking supplies so the kitchen can operate efficiently throughout the shift. Baseline qualifications include the ability to follow instructions, work quickly and safely, and maintain attention to cleanliness and food handling standards. Prior food service experience is helpful but not required if the candidate can learn procedures and work well as part of a team. Physical demands may include standing for long periods, lifting moderate weight, and repetitive use of hands and arms. The schedule is full time and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on operational needs.
