The Security Guard helps maintain a safe and orderly environment in Manhattan by monitoring entrances, patrolling assigned areas, and responding to routine security concerns. This position often involves greeting visitors, checking credentials or access points, observing for suspicious activity, and documenting incidents or unusual conditions in a clear and timely manner. Depending on the site, the guard may also provide basic directions, report maintenance concerns, or coordinate with supervisors and emergency personnel when necessary. A typical candidate should have good judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain alert during extended periods. Prior security experience is useful, and any required state licensing or training must be current if applicable to the assignment. The job may require standing or walking for long stretches, climbing stairs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions at times. Schedule is full time and may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays depending on site coverage needs.
