Building Porter

The Building Porter helps keep a Bronx property clean, orderly, and functional through daily custodial and support tasks. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, trash removal, wiping common surfaces, maintaining lobbies and hallways, restocking supplies, and assisting with light setup or seasonal cleaning. The role may also involve observing the condition of shared spaces and reporting maintenance issues promptly. Candidates should have prior cleaning or building support experience, a reliable work ethic, and the ability to follow routines and safety instructions. Basic communication skills and attention to detail are important for working around residents, visitors, and staff. Physical demands are customary for this position and can include lifting trash bags or supplies, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and spending much of the shift on foot. This is a full-time position with a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on building needs.
