Building Porter

The Building Porter supports the cleanliness, appearance, and day-to-day order of a residential or commercial property in the Bronx. This role helps maintain common areas, lobbies, hallways, stairwells, trash rooms, sidewalks, and other shared spaces so the building remains presentable and safe for occupants and visitors. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, collecting and disposing of trash, restocking supplies, wiping surfaces, and reporting maintenance concerns or safety hazards to the appropriate staff. A qualified candidate should have basic knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, the ability to follow instructions, and a dependable work history. Prior experience in building services, custodial work, or similar property maintenance is often helpful. The work may require standing, walking, bending, lifting light to moderate items, and performing repetitive tasks during the shift. This is a full-time position with a schedule that may include weekdays, weekends, or varied hours depending on building needs.
