The Kitchen Helper supports daily food preparation and cleaning tasks in a busy Bronx kitchen environment. This role helps keep the workspace organized so cooks can focus on timely meal service. Typical duties include washing, peeling, and portioning ingredients, stocking supplies, cleaning counters and equipment, taking out trash, and assisting with basic prep as directed. The position may also involve receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and helping maintain sanitation standards throughout the shift. A successful candidate has a strong work ethic, follows instructions carefully, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Basic experience in food service or custodial work is helpful, along with the ability to read simple instructions and use common kitchen tools safely. Physical demands typically include standing for long periods, lifting moderate weights, and frequent bending, reaching, and walking. The schedule is full time and may include daytime, evening, weekend, or holiday hours depending on operational needs.
