The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications in a busy retail or community pharmacy setting in Manhattan. Typical duties include collecting prescription information, entering data into the pharmacy system, processing insurance claims, preparing medication orders, and assisting with inventory checks, restocking, and expiration-date monitoring. The role also involves helping customers with basic product questions, maintaining accurate records, and following pharmacy procedures for safety, confidentiality, and quality control. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Prior pharmacy experience or completion of a recognized technician training program is often preferred, and state registration or certification may be required or expected depending on local rules. Physical demands can include standing for extended periods, frequent hand use, and occasional lifting of supplies. This is a full-time position with a schedule that may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, or holidays. Compensation may be negotiated within the posted range based on relevant experience.
